Charles Light scrapbook, 1919-1929.

This collection consists of a scrapbook created by Light to document the time surrounding his years as a Penn State student with photographs and other memorabilia. There are photographs of football games, players, and Coach Hugo Bezdek, tickets, and newspaper articles documenting the success of the Penn State football teams when Light was the team fullback. In addition to these materials, there are programs from parties at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house and other events. Besides the Penn State materials, there are also photographs of Light as a member of the State College Area High School football, track, and baseball teams, as well as photographs of Light participating in the University of Pennsylvania Medical Training Corps in 1929.

Charles Harner "Hobey" Light was born October 5, 1902, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Light was a graduate of State College Area High School and a 1926 graduate of the Pennsylvania State College. He was an outstanding member of the Penn State backfield on the 1925-1927 football teams. Light was active in Parmi Nous, Friars, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, student council, the Inter-Class sports council, Y.M.C.A. Advisory Board, and was on the varsity football team as the fullback.
